1942 – 1969

1942
The origins: Gastone Guerrini carpentry workshop
The Gastone Guerrini carpentry workshop, specializing in wooden doors and windows, is founded in Turin. Our focus on materials and craftsmanship lays the foundations for our future.
1953
Craftsmanship at Palazzo Lascaris
We create Baroque-style doors and windows for the prestigious Palazzo Lascaris in Turin, confirming our ability to create high-quality, tailor-made solutions.
1957
Tecnolegno S.A.S. is founded
1957 marks a fundamental change: Tecnolegno S.A.S. di Meyrone Allomello & C. is founded in Turin. This allows the company to face new challenges with a more structured organizational framework and to diversify its production.
1958
First TL Mod 57 patent
We obtain our first patent for the TL Mod 57 window frame, confirming our commitment to innovation and certified quality.
1959
TL 30 profile for Tessilcarraro Veneta
As Tecnolegno, we manufacture TL 30 corner profiles for windows for a major residential project in Padua, strengthening customer confidence in our production capacity.
1960
Doors for the royal palace in Kuwait
In 1960, the quality of Tecnolegno products was recognized internationally with an order for interior doors for the Abdullah Alsabah Mubara royal palace in Kuwait. This important project marked the beginning of expansion beyond national borders.

1961
The Palazzo a Vela in Turin
In 1961, the company took on a new and significant engineering challenge: the construction of the wooden structure of the Palazzo a Vela in Turin, to mark the centenary of the Unification of Italy.
1962
Patent for movable office walls
The drive for innovation continues: in 1962, a new patent is obtained for the construction of movable office walls. This solution is immediately applied in important projects, such as the SAIPO L’Oréal offices in Settimo Torinese.
1963
The first approach to cold
In 1963, Tecnolegno created the first two prototypes of thermally insulated doors, marking the beginning of a new chapter. Although still in its infancy and experimental, this intuition laid the foundations for future specialization in the industrial and commercial refrigeration sector.
1965
Project for Reale Mutua Assicurazioni
We manufacture interior doors and windows, entrance doors, and glass windows for six buildings belonging to Reale Mutua Assicurazioni. This complex project confirms our ability to manage large-scale projects with consistent quality.

1967
The Monte Rosa chapel
In 1967, Tecnolegno built the highest chapel in Europe, at an altitude of 3,647 meters on the Idren glacier in the Monte Rosa massif. This project demonstrates the company’s accumulated experience and ability to operate even in extreme conditions, while maintaining high standards of reliability.
1969 – 2004

1969
MTH is founded and the first refrigerated door is created
1969 marks a decisive moment in our history. Manifatture Tecnolegno Hartz S.A.S., now M.T.H. S.r.l., is founded in Almese. In the same year, we manufacture our first refrigerated door, model TL 236/TN: a turning point for our future specialization in the refrigeration sector.

1971
New factory and first refrigeration price list
In 1971, we inaugurated the new production plant in Almese, which allowed us to increase production capacity and optimize internal flows. In the same year, the first price list dedicated to the refrigeration sector was drawn up, further consolidating our industrial and commercial identity.
1973
A gift for the Sanctuary of San Pancrazio
Founder Felice Meyrone donated the main door of the Sanctuary of San Pancrazio in Pianezza (Turin) on behalf of the company, strengthening MTH’s ties with the local area and community.
1974
Expansion into Germany with Otto Sterkel
1974 marked a significant step towards internationalization: we signed an exclusive commercial agreement with Otto Sterkel for the distribution of our 245 model thermally insulated doors throughout Germany. This collaboration consolidated our European presence and opened up new market opportunities.
1975
International contract in Libya
In 1975, MTH supplied 600 refrigerated doors for BOSTON S.p.A. in Limena, destined for 84 facilities along the Libyan coast. This international project demonstrated our ability to handle large contracts, with a logistics and production organization already structured on a large scale.
1980
Supply for the Genoa slaughterhouse
In 1980, MTH was chosen as the sole supplier of refrigerated doors for the new municipal slaughterhouse in Genoa. This important project allowed MTH to enter the food processing sector.

1985
Supply to the Soviet Union with Montecno S.p.A.
In 1985, we carried out a major supply of refrigerated doors for a large industrial complex in Lozovaja, Soviet Union, in collaboration with Montecno S.p.A. The project concluded with official recognition from the plant management, who praised the quality and punctuality of our work.
1987
Collaboration with Ferrero in Alba
In 1987, we began a collaboration with Ferrero in Alba for the manufacture of thermal and acoustic panels for their production facilities.
2004 – Today
2004
New leadership for MTH
In 2004, MTH is acquired by IN.CA. S.r.l. and Luigi Canova takes over as CEO. This strategic move marks the beginning of a new era, characterized by an international vision and a growth plan focused on innovation.

2006
New offices in Almese and factory in Albania
We expand our Almese headquarters and open MTH Balcani in Albania, with a new plant dedicated to doors and cold rooms. Production capacity grows and diversifies.
2007
Acquisition of Frigor Afen
In 2007, MTH acquires Frigor Afen, a company specializing in the production of refrigeration units and the marketing of related components. This acquisition strengthens our integrated offering in the refrigeration sector and expands the range of products available.

2009
Renovation of the historic factory
In 2009, we invest in the complete renovation of our historic production facility. The project covered 10,000 square meters and introduced state-of-the-art systems and equipment, increasing production capacity and improving operational efficiency.
2010
Expansion into Latin America
In 2010, the internationalization process continued with the opening of MTH Latin America in Bogota, Colombia, to better serve the South American market.

2012
Strengthening our presence in Asia
In 2012, we opened MTH Doors India with a new plant in Sonepat, near New Delhi, and founded MTH Industrial Ref. Doors in Rizhao, China. These operations enabled us to bring the production of refrigerated doors to a local level in strategic countries.
2013
Growth of the global network
In 2013, we opened MTH France as a commercial subsidiary in Nantes. In the same year, we strengthened our presence in Southeast Asia with MTH SEA in Singapore and FrigoAfen in Kuala Lumpur, reinforcing our international distribution and service network.

2014
Internalization of plastic molding
In 2014, we created a new internal division dedicated to plastic molding, integrating the production of components for refrigerated doors. This choice ensures greater control over quality and faster delivery times.
2018
In-house production of PVC profiles
In 2018, vertical integration continues with the installation of new lines for the in-house production of PVC profiles.
2020
Innovations during the pandemic
In 2020, we launched a new online portal for order management and to guarantee constant access to technical documentation for all our customers. We also introduced a range of PVC sanitary profiles for cold rooms, developed to meet the highest hygiene standards.
2021
Almese 4.0 and new products
In 2021, we renovate and expand the Almese plant once again, integrating Industry 4.0 technologies. The year also sees the launch of a compact monoblock for small refrigerated cabinets, designed to meet new market demands.
2022
An 80-year long story
In 2022, we celebrate a significant milestone: 80 years of activity, growth, and transformation. This anniversary gives us the opportunity to reflect on our journey and look to the future with the same passion and determination that have guided us from the beginning.
2023
Acquisition of Foris Index
2023 marks another milestone: the acquisition of Foris Index. This strategic move further strengthens MTH’s position as the leading Italian manufacturer of insulated doors and one of the main European players, with an increasingly complete and integrated product range.
2024
A new factory for a new range of cold rooms
In 2024, we inaugurate the new factory in Sant’Antonino di Susa: 3,500 square meters dedicated to the production of the new Algor range of cold rooms. This step allows us to strengthen our position in the high-quality cold room segment.
Celebrations

A historic milestone
In July 2022, we celebrated 80 years of history, from a Turin carpentry workshop to global leadership in insulation and refrigeration. The event brought together employees, partners, and special guests to celebrate our achievements and look forward to the future with renovated enthusiasm.
Champions of cooling
During the celebration, CEO Luigi Canova retraced the key milestones of our journey, emphasizing digitalization, sustainability, and inclusiveness as key pillars for the future. He also reiterated the central role of people and teamwork and the importance of investing in talent, which has determined the company’s success thus far.


Special guests
Ombretta Bertolo, then Mayor of Almese, recalled the crucial role of MTH for the local community. Silvano Agresti, coach of the Bulls Torino, and Riccardo Pittis, former basketball player and mental coach, shared parallels between sport and business, highlighting the value of collective commitment in achieving a common goal.
A winning team
MTH is first and foremost a close-knit family of more than 130 people from over 15 different countries. The event provided an opportunity to thank those who, with their talent, expertise, and dedication, have contributed to achieving this historic milestone.
